2016 Chevrolet Volt, increased load power?
According to a recent report, the power load of the 2016 Chevrolet Volt will be a maximum of 3.6 kilowatts against 3.3 kW for the outgoing model, which represents an increase of 9%. This value remains far from 6.6 kilowatts of Nissan Leaf, Ford Focus Electric and Kia Soul EV but the Volt is also not a pure electric car unlike its rivals.

This gain in power load will not change for those who plug their car into a socket "Level 1" (110/120 volts) and it will always be a night to recharge the battery. However, there will be a significant increase in the charging time if you use a socket "Level 2" (208/240 volts).
